New York City Snow Day
Wednesday, February 10, 2010
My best friend, Violet, and I both got snowshoes for the holidays. I was so envious of Violet, because she got to go to Winter Wonderland Camp- and I got stuck in New York City with absolutely no snow. There was snow in December, but I was still performing in the Nutcracker so I didn't have time to play.
Then, I found out we were having a huge snowstorm! It was so big that the libraries closed and the trains weren't running at full capacity. I grabbed my snowshoes and ran down the stairs to try them out.
It was so much fun walking around with my snowshoes, but it was really tiring. I walked all around the little park near my house, until it started to snow really hard. The wind was blowing and my cheeks started to sting, so I came inside.
I put on my special snow day pajamas and pulled out the Cheburashka puzzle I got for New Year. I made hot cocoa all by myself with the microwave, and settled down to do the puzzle. What a nice, cozy end to an adventurous day!
P.S. Did it snow where you are? What do you like to do during snowstorms- go out and play, or stay in?

It didn't snow too much here. Susanna doesn't like snow so she stayed in bed. Your coat is so pretty and you look like you're having fun snowshoeing.
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't snowed here at all - and I'm not expecting it to. Oh well, it is still nice to stay inside with some yummy hot cocoa!
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to be in NYC or DC when they were full of snow! We can go to the mountains to see snow, but that's different! ;-) Mia and Eva
ReplyDeleteCute snowgear! I like snow but we don't live near snow though....
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, Inky! Your jacket is gorgeous and the Cheburashka puzzle looks like such fun. Where we live, there is so much snow. It usually lasts into spring. That's Canadian weather, for you! We like to go out and play (and ski), but when it gets too cold, we come inside for hot chocolate. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love those photos of you in the snow! Your coat is pretty!
ReplyDelete(btw, I decided to follow the trend and move my blog to here ;) )
