Me & the Soyuz!

Look at me! I took this picture with the self-timer this Tuesday at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. Isn't it cool? The museum has lots of Soviet things in it. They even had an exhibit just about the Space Race!

I got to see a real toilet from Mir and also Yuri Gagarin's space suit! I even got to go inside a replica of Skylab and play around. It was the best museum I've ever been to, hands down.

Moon Rock

Washington DC is pretty cool. We stayed at the Hyatt, where the lobby smelled like old socks. We got to go to the Air & Space Museum, the Holocaust Memorial Museum, the National Gallery of Art, the Museum of the American Indian, and the National Postal Museum.

Vostok 1

I only got to go to the children's exhibit at the Holocaust Museum. It talked about how kids lived in ghettos. It was really, really sad. Did you know between two and three million Soviet prisoners of war died in concentration camps? The museum was really sad. I found Kharkov on the list of cities from which Jews were taken.

Yuri Gagarin's Space Suit

The National Museum of the American Indian is cool because Colette's grandma, Maga, has a pot displayed there! She was a micaceous potter. Colette's tribe is very famous for their pottery. Some of the pieces on sale in the gift shop cost over 10,000 dollars! Wow!

I am back in New York City now. We are almost done unpacking. Iris's puppy is really cute. We are teaching him to use the cats' litter box so that we don't have to keep cleaning up after him.
