Making Valentines with Piper

Making Valentines for Friends

Happy Valentine's Day!

This weekend, Piper and I had a mini valentine-making party.  We'd been working on making heart garland for a few weeks and we finally hung it up in the living room to get us in the mood.

Making Valentines for Friends

We had purple and pink paper. I chose the purple paper to make my valentines.  Most kids give candy with their valentines, but my moms told me to choose something that doesn't make your teeth rot! I decided to get out out my collection of pin badges to decorate my valentines.

My mom loves baking; she made us a batch of special valentine cookies with pink frosting and sprinkles. We ate them while we made our valentines- yum! Piper and I giggled a little because we weren't allowed to have candy (because of our teeth), but Mom seemed fine with pink cookies!

Making Valentines

I worked hard writing out my valentines to my friends.  I even used a pink glitter pen to sign my name! I got some really cute stickers with monkeys and pandas to use to decorate my cards.

I think they turned out nicely, don't you?

Happy Valentine's Day from me and Piper! May your day be filled with love, hugs, and friendship!

P.S. I still have several valentines left over. If you would like one, e-mail me at inkymarina@gmail.com.

  1. Salut, Inky!
Bonne Saint-Valentine! Today is my friend Lilly's birthday, and she loves that her birthday is on what she considers to be the the "prettiest, most romantic day of the year". I have yet to give her a card and gift, but I'm sure she'll like what I have planned.
Your cards are very pretty; the pins add a nice touch. I like your outfits, too.

  2. No candy but coookies? Hehehehe. Cookies, I think, are better than candy anyway. I think your homemade Valentines are most adorable. Did you make the heart chains? Very creative.

  6. Inky!

Joyeuse Saint-Valentin! I'm glad you and Piper had such a great time making the cards. They sure turned out nicely! Thank you for sending me one! I love it.

I need to write my Valentine's blog post, but since I'm high on sugar (too much Valentine's candy!), I might have to do it tomorrow.

  11. Hi Katelyn, Piper's mom made her tights out of a pair of children's socks. I would recommend going to Target- they have lots of cute Valentine socks and they probably have them on sale right now.

Summer, I'm so glad your family likes the ballet stuff! I'm hoping to move out of my current level (pink leotards) into a new level (green leotards) this fall.

Esther, thank you for the compliment! Happy Birthday to you! May all your wishes today (and yesterday!) come true!

  13. Hi Marina! I guess you can call me Inky Dinky- it's silly name! Did you know my full name is Marina, like yours? Inky is just a nickname.

Mama is not the best baker, so she bought my cookies from Royal Doll Boutique on etsy. :)

Thank you for your compliment on my hairstyle!

  15. Are Pipers tights actually tights or just long socks? I want to try and make some so I was wondering if they are tights or long socks! I love your blog! I look every day and see if there are new posts!

  17. Hi Anonymous #1- Piper's tights are long stockings, not actually tights.

Anonymous #2- I got the buttons at Kinokuniya Bookstore and Toy Tokyo in New York City. :)
