Inky Marina!

Remember how I said Violet was away at camp during my trip to Utah?  On my last day in Utah, I heard a familiar voice calling my name from the backyard after breakfast. I ran outside and there was my best friend in the whole world, Violetka!! I was so, so excited.  We hadn't seen each other in months and months!



We had so much to discuss! We sat in the shade (it was so, so hot!) and talked about her trip to camp, my trip to Utah, and all the other things in the whole wide world.  Even though we don't see each other often, when we do, it's like all our time apart disappears and it's just the two of us.



One of the special things about Salt Lake City is that it is the home of the LDS temple! I had been years ago, but Violet suggested we go again. It was such a hot, hot day! Still, we had a great time in Temple Square. The workers were preparing the holiday season by hanging fairy lights in the trees, even though it was almost 100F outside! Isn't the temple cool? It's so big! We couldn't go inside because we're not LDS, but we still enjoyed our visit.



Temple Square is full of beautiful flower beds, so we had to pose in front of one.  We were chattering away the whole time! There is nothing like spending a day with your best, best friend.



Too soon, it was time for us to leave downtown so I could pack my bag.  I had to fly home to New York.  I gave Violet and her parents huge hugs and said I hoped I would be back soon.   Visiting Utah was the perfect way to finish off my summer, before I got back to my schoolwork.
