Trail Riding

Riding horses

One of the great things about being homeschooled is that you have the time to do all sorts of things during the week. This afternoon, my parents took me and Violet on a trail ride on the bridle path in the park. Violet and I are not very experienced riders, but the workers at the stables chose two gentle horses for us so we were fine. We walked all through the park, looking up at the tall city buildings surrounding the oasis of grass and trees.

We rounded a corner in the path and saw a girl standing with her horse. "Hi!" she called. "I'm Cobie! Want to ride together?"

We carefully got off our horses and walked over to talk to the new girl. Her name is Jacoba Saige and she's an experienced rider. She invited me and Violet to finish off the rest of the trail back to the stables with her.

The three of us rode together with my moms not far behind. We had a great time in the park riding horses! Plus, it was awesome getting to meet Cobie. It turns out she only lives a few blocks from me! I hope we'll get to see more of her soon.

Have you ever ridden a horse? What was it like?

In this entry I'm wearing: tee, jeans, boots, and helmet by American Girl. Violet is wearing: tee by The Beach Shack, pants by Dynamite Threads, and boots by American Girl.

  1. Salut, Inky! C'est Sandrine!
I've ridden a horse before. I visited the States during my spring vacation in 2008, and I rode a horse named Buttercup. It was a cool experience! I'm not sure that I would do it again, but it was fun.
Actually, I might write a blog post about that spring because I obviously didn't blog at the time.
I really love Jacoba's boots! I'm always looking for new boots so that I can hide my feet. Being en pointe doesn't exactly beautify your feet, but it will all be worth it someday! :)

    1. Hi Sandrine!
How cool that you rode Buttercup! I am not sure that I will do a lot of riding in the future, but Violet loves it!

No, being en pointe is not good for the feet! Coral and I are both doing half an hour of beginning pointe work before our classes and it is NOT fun! Ow!

  2. Wow, Inky, that looks amazingly fun! I love riding horses, but, unfortunately, there isn't a stable near us. :( Anyway, it must have been fun to meet Jacoba Saige, and to go horse back riding with Violet. All the horses are so beautiful. I love all your outfits! I wish I had as good taste in style as you!

    1. Hi Dakota!
You should look into moving near a stable, lol! No, I'm kidding. You have excellent style as well. :)

    1. That is so cool that you ride a lot! Calves would be so fun and so cute. There is a farm museum in our borough that has really cute calves in the springtime!
