Hodel Arrives & a Tour of my Bedroom

1

This afternoon, I was in my room playing with Chaika and Niko, waiting for someone, when I heard a voice call my name.

2

"Inky? Hello?" called a voice from across the room. It was a pretty girl with brown hair and a Yiddish accent.

3

"Hodel! Welcome to New York City!" I exclaimed! Hodel and I ran to the middle of the room and did a little awkward "We're good friends online but have never met in person" hug. "Let me show you around my room!" I said.

4

"This is the bed where you'll sleep. You can put whatever you'd like in the nightstand."

5

"And here are my closets," I went on, "You can have the one on the right."

6

"Here's my desk! I use it for homework, drawing, and journaling. You can you use it whenever you want. Just tell me, so I can put away my stuff," I said.

7

"This is my bed and nightstand!"

8

"Please meet Niko and Chaika! Chaika is the Russian blue with the missing ear and Niko is the tuxedo kitty," I explained.

"Oh kitties!" exclaimed Hodel, "they're so cute!"

9

"I keep my little toys and collectibles on these shelves- if you see Niko try to jump up there, please help stop him! Just say 'No Niko! No!'"

"Got it!" said Hodel, "I'll be sure Niko doesn't knock down any of those snow globes!"

10

"Thanks for the tour!" said Hodel. "Do you mind if we sit down for a little while?"

"Not at all! How was your trip? Did you get juice or soda on the plane? Did you sit by a window?" I started to pepper Hodel with questions. Soon, Hodel and I were chattering like the old friends we are.

I'm glad Hodel has come to stay for a few weeks! I can't wait to explore NYC with her!

In this entry I'm wearing: shrimp and angelfish tee from DollCloset and shorts from Royal Doll Boutique.

    1. Hi Anonymous,
The beds are from American Girl. They're the "Dreamy Daybeds" which retail for $95.

    1. I do get annoyed when people copy large parts of Inky's story- like say if your doll was also Russian, adopted, and went to SAB- but really, anyone's doll can go to SAB! It's your doll! I just say- be creative with it. :)

  10. Your room is so cool! Mine is just my bed right now because I couldn't take it all with me on vacation. I love all your decorations. How do you make shelves that are doll size? And where do you think is a good place to buy a bed?
    Love,
    Callie

    1. The shelves are cut from a long piece of lattice wood, in 10 inch segments. Then they're screwed to the wall with 2 inch corner brackets.

I really recommend American Girl and the Payne Street Doll Boutique for doll beds!
