Goodbye Piper, Privet Katia!

One

One night last week, Piper and I were in my room. I was playing on my new MacBook (wow!) and Piper was packing her suitcase to go home to Utah.

Two

"Inky," said Piper. "We've had so much fun together. Whenever I see my panda, I'll remember how you gave him to me on Valentine's Day- and how we went to the National Zoo together."

Three

"I've loved having you here! I wish our families could live closer together," I replied. "I always feel a little lonely after a friend leaves."

Four

"Well," said Piper, "Katia should be arriving any minute now! I kind of wish your Mom would have let us go with her to the airport."

"Me too!" I said. "But Mom said there wouldn't be any room in our little car for Mom, Katia, Katia's mom, all of Katia's luggage- and you and me!"

Five

"Привет! Privyet!"

Piper and I heard a voice call "Hi!" in Russian from across the room.

Six

It was Katia!

"Katiusha," I said, using Katia's Russian nickname, "I'm so glad you're here! Please meet Piper."

"Hello Piper," Katia said shyly. "I feel like I know you already from reading your blog."

"Hi Katia!," said Piper. "I'm sorry we won't get to spend more time together, but I have to fly back to Utah tonight."

Seven

I called my Mama into my room, and she took a photo of me, Katia, and Piper all together. It really was sad that Piper had to go home, but I know Piper was really missing her dog (oh! And her parents too!).

Eigtht

Soon, Mom called "Piper! It's time to go to the airport!" Katia and I gave Piper a big hug. She waved good-bye as she left the room.

It's so sad when a friend leaves, but I knew Katia and I would have lots of fun! Where do you think Katiusha and I ended up going on her visit?

  2. Salut, Inky!
It's too bad that Piper had to leave, though I understand her parents miss her. I'm glad she had a nice time staying with you.
I hope you took Katia ice skating! I also hope you guys took a walk through Central Park. I'm dying to visit NYC someday. Even Nicki and Vicki have been to NYC before me. They told me I'd love to eat at Tavern on the Green, but I heard it closed. I also want to do some serious shopping on 5th Avenue. Maybe I'd see you somewhere? Who knows? ;)

Katia did go ice skating- I didn't with her though, I had ballet class. I was telling Coral how much it stinks to have Saturday ballet class, but she thinks it's awesome! Does Sandrine dance on Saturday mornings too?

Yes, Tavern on the Green is closed, but there are lots of nice places to eat in the park. Just don't eat at the zoo restaurant- it's expensive and not very good. You wouldn't like it at all!

If you ever come to NYC, please let me know. I would love to spend time with you, if you could stand hanging out with a little kid like me!

  3. Hi Inky! I'm glad that you and Piper had fun while she visited, and that you have lots of fun with Katia! Did you go skating in Rockefeller Plaza? I've always wanted to go to NYC!

    1. Hi Reese!

Katia went skating at Rockfeller Center, but I had to go to ballet that day. You should come to NYC someday! If you do, ask your parents if we can meet up. You're Korean, right? You might like this awesome Korean food court on 32nd street. My auntie is Korean and she took me there and it was DELICIOUS!

  4. Hi, Inky!

I'm sorry Piper had to leave, but I'm glad that Katia was there right away so you wouldn't have to feel lonely without a guest. It's cool that the three of you got to spend a little time together before Piper had to leave.

It sounds like you and Piper had a lot of fun, and made some great memories! I hope you and Katia have an equally fun time. :-)

    Love,
    Summer

  5. Bonsoir! C'est moi, encore.
My sister has practices on some Saturdays- not all. It's amazing, though, how she'll get out of bed early for dance, but it's a pain getting her out of bed to get to school. Her first class is math, and to be honest, I'm not sure I'd like waking up to math class, either. :P
I agree with you that waking up early on Saturdays would stink. I value my sleep, and I love that there is no school on Saturday in the States. That was my least favorite part about France.
Don't worry- I don't think of you as a little kid! One of my good friends is younger than me; she's Julien's little sister. I think we'd have fun together.
    Bisous,
    Sabine

    They're very inspiring!
A while back I made an awesome dress for my Kleopatrea-Selene.

  9. Inky - It's so lucky that Katia arrived before Piper left. And now you have already been having fun with her! It's so cool that you both speak Russian, too. I haven't ever been ice skating, let alone at Rockefeller Center - isn't that weird? hahaaa I think I'd like to play ice hockey, though.

    Hugs,

    1. Kiki,

I've only been ice skating once- at a rink in Cincinnati when I first met Katia. I didn't really like it- it was cold and I kept falling down!

  15. Hi Inky,

First off - I love that MacBook! Congratulations! Your Moms are always so good to you. :)

I'm sorry that Piper had to leave. I'm sure you two will see each other again soon. I'm surprised that she didn't hang around a little longer, so that she could help you show NYC to Katia. I guess the three of you would've been a bit of a handful, though. ;)

I know Katia must be anxious to go to Rockefeller Center. She's such an awesome figure skater!

  16. Inky,
Sorry Piper had to leave so soon when Katia got there, it would have been fun for you guys to have some extra time, but I know how hard it is to have three girls going places. lol We did that for Alaska.

I am sooooo excited to see you, just 36 days and we leave home for our trip, we have a couple nights and then fly to NY. It will be so much fun. Mama would love to go to the store that you got your mac book and get one if they still have them, we need another lap top, that would be kewl ..

    Talk to you laters,
    Hugs,
    Taryn
